Meet Dr. Bristol
Dan Bristol, O.D.
Dr. Dan Bristol is an optometric glaucoma specialist and the founding optometrist of Bristol Family Eyecare. He offers expert care to patients across the Bee Cave, Georgetown, and Lakeway locations.
With a dedication to enhancing patient care, Dr. Bristol strives to empower individuals by combining thorough education with top-tier treatment, helping patients take control of their eye health.
A graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in 1998, Dr. Bristol further expanded his expertise with a business administration degree from the University of Illinois in 2022.
His early clinical experience at a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Corpus Christi Naval Hospital in Texas helped develop his passion for glaucoma management, eventually leading to his certification as an optometric glaucoma specialist.
Dr. Bristol is recognized as a leader in his field and has served on the board of directors for the Independent Eye Care Providers of Texas.
His active participation in numerous professional organizations includes:

- Optometric Glaucoma Society
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bristol is committed to optometric education. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Austin Community College. He continues contributing to the profession as a facilitator for PERC, a business group supporting the growth of optometry practices.
His expertise is often sought after for lectures on practice management, medical coding, glaucoma management, and dry eye syndrome treatment.
Dr. Bristol is deeply connected to the Austin community, regularly donating eye exams to underserved residents through Prevent Blindness Texas and supporting other charitable causes.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bristol enjoys staying active through exercise and reading. He cherishes spending time with his family, engaging in friendly ping pong matches with his wife, son, and daughter, and traveling together.
He is also an enthusiastic supporter of his children’s activities, from cheering on his son at soccer games to watching his daughter excel in cheerleading and gymnastics.
